Dr. Abraiz Khattak is serving as assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Power Engineering of United States-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He did his PhD in Electrical Power Engineering with specialization in high voltage engineering from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Pakistan. He received Masters in Electrical Power Engineering and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering degrees from University Engineering and Technology, Peshawar-Pakistan.
Dr. Khattak joined CECOS University of Information Technology and Emerging Sciences and taught different graduate subjects and supervised students in their MS theses. In April 2018, he joined as assistant professor and Technical Lead of high voltage laboratory at US-Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCAS-E) National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. Besides several years of teaching experience, Dr. Khattak is an active researcher in the field of high voltage engineering and power systems.
He has been attending board of studies, board of faculties and selection boards for faculty in various universities and played important role in curriculum development for electrical power engineering at various universities.
Dr. Khattak is approved PhD supervisor from Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan and has supervising many students in their PhD and masters’ thesis. He has completed project of development of accelerated weathering standard and facility for Pakistan and currently working on improved RTV coatings for high voltage porcelain insulators in polluted environment and online leakage current monitoring systems.
